Captured live at the Penthouse in Seattle, WA on April 14 and 21, 1966, less than a year after Wes and Wynton's classic 1965 live album Smokin at the Half Note, Smokin' in Seattle features bassist Ron McClure (Charles Lloyd, Joe Henderson) and the legendary drummer Jimmy Cobb

The deluxe 180-gram LP is mastered by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab, pressed at Le Vinylist, and comes with an elaborate insert with rare photos by Lee Tanner, Chuck Stewart, Tom Copi, Joe Alpert and others; essays by modern jazz guitar legend Pat Metheny, Seattle Times writer Paul de Barros, Resonance producer and 'Jazz Detective' Zev Feldman, original recording engineer and Seattle Radio DJ Jim Wilke, and bassist Ron McClure; plus interviews with NEA Jazz Masters Jimmy Cobb and pianist Kenny Barron. Limited edition 180-gram gatefold LP transferred from the original tape reels recorded by Jim Wilke. Mastered by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab and pressed at 33 1/3 RPM at Le Vinylist. Second pressing of live album recorded in 1966 at the Penthouse jazz club in Seattle, Washington. Only known recording of the Wynton Kelly Trio and Wes Montgomery with Ron McClure on bass. Booklet includes rare photos; essays by guitar icon Pat Metheny, jazz journalist Paul de Barros, producer Zev Feldman, original recording engineer Jim Wilke; plus interviews with Ron McClure, Jimmy Cobb and NEA Jazz Master Kenny Barron.
