Before dominating the Grammys and defining the sound of modern R&B, Victoria Monét delivered two of her most intimate, foundational projects: Life After Love, Pt. 1 and Life After Love, Pt. 2. Released individually in 2018, these twin EPs captured a pivotal chapter in Monét’s evolution as a solo artist, establishing the lush vocal arrangements, cinematic production, and razor-sharp songwriting that would later captivate the world. Now, for the first time ever, both transformative projects are combined into a single physical release, debuting exclusively on vinyl for Record Store Day Black Friday 2026.
The dual project charts a complete emotional arc, chronicling the delicate journey from heartbreak to self-actualization. Part 1 delves into the raw vulnerability and quiet introspection of a breakup’s immediate fallout, anchored by sultry, unfiltered anthems like "Freak." Part 2 turns the page toward rediscovery, blooming into an exploration of newfound confidence and sensuality through standout cuts like "New Love" and the shimmering, bass-heavy fan favorite "Ass Like That." Seamlessly bridging pain and empowerment across its tracklist, the combined collection showcases Monét's innate ability to translate personal grief into universal, groove-heavy solace.
By pressing these two landmark EPs together on wax, this release offers long-time fans and vinyl collectors the ultimate way to experience Monét's early masterwork as a unified narrative. It stands as a long-overdue physical grail, celebrating the resilient spirit of an artist taking back her narrative—and serving as a reminder that the best music often blooms from the ashes of heartache.
1xLP, pressed on Brown & Tan Galaxy vinyl and limited to 2000 units worldwide.
