Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band’s New Year’s Eve 1975 Tower Theater show captures the band at the absolute peak of the Born To Run era — the triumphant finale to Bruce’s breakthrough year.

As our friend Erik Flannigan explains in his excellent Last Tango In Philly (Nugs release) notes, this is far more than just another great 1975 show. The set is packed with performances and arrangements unique to this extraordinary period:

A radically slowed-down Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out, the epic It’s My Life and Pretty Flamingo, ferocious versions of Backstreets, Jungleland and Rosalita, and the beautiful, rarely heard slow arrangement of Thunder Road.

There are wonderful rarities too: Does This Bus Stop at 82nd Street? wouldn’t be played again for 18 years, while Mountain of Love disappeared for an astonishing 33years.

Originally professionally recorded by Jimmy Iovine on 16-track analogue tape, the masters were newly transferred and mixed for the 50th Anniversary release.
