Soul Latino (Discos Musart, 1969) is a rare gem of Mexican funk, featuring the Mexico City-born Agueros-Patino brothers - Salvador (drums), Felix (percussion, drums), Jose Luis (guitar), and Roberto (bass) - better known as Rabbits & Carrots. The group's sole album is now regarded as an important piece of Mexican funk history, blending Latin rhythms, jazz, soul, and funk through instrumental interpretations of Jorge Ben's "Pais Tropical," Rufus Thomas' "Funky Chicken," Sly & The Family Stone's "Everyday People," and Kool & The Gang's "Kool & The Gang."
This Record Store Day exclusive marks the first vinyl reissue since the album's original pressing more than five decades ago. Remastered from the original master tapes, this expanded double-LP edition features eight addational non-album tracks and comes housed in a gatefold jacket.
